Mercedes-Benz!!! Here comes the King of rides–a timely meet for speed, panache and comfort. If you’re ever in need of class and luxury? Then it must be a Benz. In fact, it’s safe to say that the brand is a “home” on its own.
Based in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg; the German automobile maker is a division of Daimler AG and it is often known for luxury cars, buses, coaches, and trucks- all with the possibilities of specification to clients’ preferences. The origin of Mercedes-Benz can be ascribed to the promptings of Karl Benz, who created the first petrol powered automobile that was eventually patented in 1886. In 1926, the merger between Gottlieb Daimler’s and Karl Benz’s firm into Daimler-Benz birthed the first product later in the year. The company is identified with the three-pointed star logo as trademark. Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) conceptualized the Gottlieb Daimler’s aims for universal motorization – on land, water and in the air.
Known for high-end, affluent clientele; the brand is a “style” for the rich and elite only. In time past, notable owners of the brand were Rockefeller, Morgan, Astor and Taylor families (all billionaires in their class), Adolf Hitler among others. To consolidate her gains in the auto-market, Mercedes-Benz had an extensive merger with few companies that include AMG, Maybach and BYD Auto. These mergers increased the reach of the company thus enriching access to the brand, at least on a more global scale. In terms of models, the brands are classified with nomenclatures (or alphabets) that include A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, CLA, CLS, E-Class, G-Class, AMG GT, AMG GT4, Citan, Vito and many others.
In a bid to meet future energy needs, Mercedes-Benz created hybrids that run on alternative power source (electricity); they include hybrid electric, fuel-cell powertrains and fully electric. In 2007, hybrid models of the Benz were showcased alongside the popular F700 car. This show of commitment to clean energy also continued as three BlueZERO concepts and Vision S500 PHEV were introduced in 2009 at the North American International Auto Show and New European Driving Cycle respectively.
With features such as fuel-cell electric, gasoline-electric hybrid and battery-electric; these innovations certainly do not come at a pocket friendly price but certainly with a guarantee for a safer and health friendly environment. Currently, many hybrid versions are being created while the previous versions are better adapted for more suitability. The Mercedes-Benz may not be the king of the road but certainly a King in the class of luxury. Guess you never knew Benz this much? If you do, then this Mercedes Benz quiz is certainly yours.
